The UN, even in science reporting, is susceptible to politics and there is a strain of politics in Europe especially that says that GMOs are bad, without evidence. They are the same people that think that fluoride in water is harmful and that seals need to be protected from the Inuit. But there have been more than 2000 global studies of GM foods so there is plenty of evidence that GM foods are not harmful and are at least as good as traditional agricultural products. http://www.geneticliteracyp...

why do you think organic growers are so concerned about building a healthy soil?
and getting their produce to market and why farmers markets have much fresher produce
you are sounding like the people who argued for years that tobacco was safe and not a health concern
and you are supporting industrial agriculture which gets all the money to lobby and achieve govt support
and conduct their research on their terms
You need to listen to local growers and farmers and people who choose to buy fresh produce at Farmers Markets.

Yes, we get energy from food but it isn't spiritual, it isn't 'life force' it is nutrients and the nutrients are the same for organic, industrial and GMO (actually GMOs are slightly better). You're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts and the argument you are trying to make is a spiritual one, not a scientific one.

Most of those are political, not scientific and that includes the Journal of Organic Systems (publisher of your study). They are not included in PubMed and seem to mostly exist to say that "organic is good" - not follow actual science. Do a google search for Journal of Organic Systems and Junk Science and see what you get. It is, in other words, part of the cult of nature.

toxic to earthworms. Might as well jump onto a hook and go fishing
because they don't stand a chance. Earthworm populations are at risk of

herbicide is sprayed. With the objective of detecting chronic, sublethal
effects of the widely used herbicide, an experiment was performed using
the earthworm Eisenia fetida as model organism. Earthworm adults were
randomly assigned to three glyphosate treatments: control (no
glyphosate), regular dose for perennial weeds, and double dose. Both
glyphosate treatments showed negative growth rates. The results suggest
that under these sublethal effects, non-target populations are at risk
of local extinction. Collateral damage to non-target organisms - more
death by Monsanto.
